The merchant is a small household appliance trader. It joined Pinduoduo in Q1 2025 and mainly deals in mini electric cookers (for dormitories and single-person dining scenarios). In the early stage, due to severe product homogeneity, no price advantage and low participation in activities, the monthly sales volume was only 800 units, making it difficult to break through in the red ocean market.
Core operation strategy
1. Differentiated best-selling product positioning: Focusing on the essential needs of "dormitory enthusiasts and renters", optimizing product configuration (adding anti-dry-burning function and multiple firepower levels), pricing is locked in the low price range of 59.9 yuan, setting a "group buying price of 49.9 yuan", which is 10-20 yuan lower than similar competing products.
2. Deep binding with official events: Focus on signing up for Pinduoduo's "Hundred Billion Subsidy", "Small Appliance Special Session", and "Limited-time Flash Sale" to obtain platform traffic weighting. Through Duoduo Live, we conducted "product testing" live streams, showcasing scenes such as cooking noodles, porridge, and hot pot. A single live stream led to sales of over 500 orders.
3. Keyword and Evaluation optimization: Optimize SEO for core keywords such as "Dormitory small Electric Pot", "one-person Cooking pot", and "Mini Electric Cooking Pot" to improve natural search rankings. Guide users to share their purchase reviews, highlighting keywords such as "high cost performance", "practical functions", and "essential for dormitories", to accumulate high-quality word-of-mouth.
Project outcome
After two months of cooperation, the monthly sales volume of the store increased from 800 orders to 8,300 orders, and the GMV exceeded 410,000 yuan. The mini electric cooker ranked among the top 15 in the "Dormitory Small appliances" category on Pinduoduo.
The comprehensive conversion rate of the store has increased from 5.2% to 11.8%, the proportion of traffic from the 10 billion subsidy has reached 35%, and the advertising ROI has remained stable at 1:6.3.
It has accumulated over 12,000 high-quality positive reviews, and its store's fan base has grown to 28,000, making it a new and popular merchant in the small household appliances category on Pinduoduo.
